Hill-Smith adds some sparkle to Y Series wine range

Hill-Smith Family Estates has introduced a Sparkling collection to its Y Series portfolio – a Cuvée and a Prosecco which retail for $16 each.

“We’ve seen a movement in sparkling wines globally, where they are becoming the wine of choice for everyday moments with friends, rather than just for celebratory moments,” says Jack Glover, executive director of Marketing and Sales for Hill-Smith Family Estates.

“Prosecco, in particular, has driven growth in the sparkling category, proving to be a refreshing and crisp aperitif, as well as a perfect base for cocktails.

“To meet every consumer occasion, we felt our collection wouldn’t be complete without sparkling wines.”

Executive director of sales Ty Menzies says, “We’re excited to offer our independent customers a first-to-market opportunity, partnering with them to introduce the new Y Series Sparkling collection.

“The Y Series Sparkling collection provides retailers with a trusted family brand in the $12-$16 price bracket – a strong addition to the sparkling wine category.”

Samuel Smith & Son has partnered with ALM and their contract customers to release Y Series Prosecco, while the Cuvée will be available market-wide.

Craig Payens, national merchandise manager IBA at Australian Liquor Marketers, reinforced the strategic importance of this launch.

Y Series was established in 2002 by the Hill-Smith family.
