Mikaela Noonan is the new general manager of sales for Taylors Wines in Australia, marking a significant step in the company’s pivot toward a more focused, premium-led growth strategy.
As the Australian wine industry navigates structural and cyclical challenges, Taylors Wines is sharpening its approach by prioritising premiumisation, reducing complexity and investing behind the long-term health and value of its brands.
The appointment of Mikaela adds further depth to Taylors Wines’ leadership capability as the business sharpens its focus on the next phase of growth.
She joins from Moët Hennessy Australia, where she currently serves as national sales manager – Head of Independents.
Mikaela’s career spans more than 15 years across retail, national accounts and channel leadership, underpinned by strong commercial acumen and a deep understanding of both supplier and customer dynamics.
Taylors Wines CEO John Freeman says her appointment comes at a pivotal time for the business.
“Mikaela brings strong strategic clarity, commercial discipline and a deep understanding of the needs and priorities of our customers,” he says.
“She has consistently demonstrated an ability to unlock growth in premium portfolios by focusing on the right opportunities and executing with precision.
“That is exactly what our business needs as we reset the business for its next phase.”
Freeman emphasised that while industry conditions remain challenging, Taylors Wines is clear-eyed about where growth will come from.
“There is no question that the industry is facing pressure,” he says.
“But within that, there are still meaningful pockets of growth and profitability.
“Our focus is on simplifying where it matters, reducing unnecessary complexity, and backing the strength of our brands where we see the greatest opportunity for sustainable growth. We are confident that a more considered and cohesive approach will position us well for the future.”
Mikaela says the decision to join Taylors Wines was driven by the clarity of its ambition and the opportunity ahead.
“This is a business with a strong foundation and a clear sense of where it wants to play. The opportunity to help shape a more focused, premium-led growth agenda, while working with a team committed to doing fewer things better, was a compelling one. I’m excited to be part of this next chapter.”
Her appointment signals Taylors Wines’ continued commitment to building a high- performing, aligned organisation capable of navigating complexity while staying anchored to long-term value creation.
With a clear strategic focus and a strong leadership team, Taylors Wines is well positioned to capture growth in the premium wine segment, targeting the right opportunities with clarity and cohesion.
