Geelong hands out the silverware at 25th show

Oakdene 2023 Single Vineyard Liz’s Chardonnay was named Best Wine in Show at the 2024 Geelong Wine Show.

Completing a dominant show for Oakdene, it also won Best Sparkling, Best Pinot Noir, Best Chardonnay and Most Successful Exhibitor.

Austins Chardonnay won Wine of Provenance with the 2023, 2019 and 2015 vintages.

The Geelong Wine Show celebrated 25 years this year.

They received 206 wines this year from 29 producers.

The awards were handed out last Friday during a dinner at Terindah Estate.

The chair of judges was John Harris of Blue Pyrenees Estate.

Judges were Matthew Brooke of Crown Resorts and Greer Carland of Quiet Mutiny Tasmania.

Associate judges were Hilary Fordham of Joval Wine Group and Nick Veanes of Wine Press Geelong.

The committee is Tatania King of The Sharpe Group, Marcus Holt of Scotchmans Hill, Liam Tromp of Provenance Wines, Steven Paul of Oakdene Wines and Peter Martinek of Mollers Lane.
