Coonawarra will hold its first-ever Woof & Wine Walk event on Saturday 11 October featuring a cellar door trail designed for dogs and their owners.
Participants will stroll between six local wineries, enjoying tastings, gourmet bites and a host of dog-friendly experiences.
“We wanted to create an event that celebrates the fun, laid-back lifestyle of our region – while also welcoming the growing number of dog-loving travellers,” says co-organiser Dan Redman.
“It’s a unique and relaxed day out for the whole family – dogs, kids and all.
“We’re encouraging visitors to make a weekend of it and enjoy everything Coonawarra and the Limestone Coast have to offer.”
Participating wineries include DiGiorgio Family Wines, Zema Estate, Ottelia Wines, Redman Wines, Brand’s Laira and Wynns Coonawarra Estate.
The event starts and finishes at DiGiorgio on the Riddoch Highway.
There will be prizes for Best Dressed Dog and Dog & Owner Lookalike.
Each pup will receive a welcome gift and humans will receive a take-home tasting glass.
Other highlights include a Yappy Hour, personalised wine labels and a dog treat market.
A donation will be made to animal welfare charities RSPCA SA and South East Animal Welfare League.
Tickets start at $35 (early bird pricing).
