Peter Campbell is the new chair of the Margaret River Wine Association.
He has extensive experience in finance, business advisory and governance along with a deep connection to the Margaret River region.
Peter has worked across various sectors both in Australia and overseas, leading his own advisory firm since the late 1990s.
Earlier in his career he served as state president and national director of the Australian Human Resources Institute.
Peter has been a member of the Margaret River community for some 25 years, residing in rural Yallingup for the past 15 years.
A strong advocate for community resilience, he has served as lead bushfire feady facilitator for the northern Capes since 2013 and has chaired the Yallingup Rural Volunteer Bushfire Brigade for the past eight years.
His connection to the region’s wine industry extends to his membership in a local winemaking syndicate.
“As a member of the wider Margaret River community for many years, I have been aware of the great work which the Association does in promoting the uniqueness of the Margaret River wine brand,” he says.
“I am very much looking forward to working with the Association’s board and CEO to continue that good work for the benefit of Association members.”
The Margaret River Wine Association (MRWA) is the peak body representing the region’s grapegrowers and winemakers, dedicated to marketing, industry development and advocacy.
Established in the late 1970s as the Margaret River Grape Growers & Winemakers Association and incorporated in 1982, MRWA has played a pivotal role in shaping and promoting Margaret River’s world-class wine industry.
As an independent, non-profit organisation, MRWA is financed by its members along with support from corporate partnerships, sponsorships and grants.
The Association represents more than 165 industry members and 50 associated Grape Grower and Commercial members, working collaboratively to support the ongoing success and global recognition of the Margaret River wine brand.
