Knappstein Wines in the Clare Valley has released its new 1878 Transcendence range, comprising a 2021 Shiraz and 2024 Riesling.
The wines are a tribute to the pioneering spirit of Fanny Filgate and the historic 1878 Enterprise Building she helped to build.
Filgate, a trailblazer in her time and daughter of the founding father of Clare, left an indelible mark on the community with her bold vision and entrepreneurial drive.
“Just as the 1878 Enterprise Building stood as a beacon of progress and craftsmanship, these wines reflect a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation, celebrating both the rich heritage of our region and our commitment to transcendent quality,” Knappstein senior winemaker Michael Kane says.
“The 1878 Transcendence range is not just a collection of wines; it is a manifestation of perseverance, craftsmanship and passion.
“These wines are a testament to the many talented hands that have tended the vines and nurtured the wines within our storied cellars.
“Our heritage-listed stone cellars, built in 1878, stand as a symbol of our enduring commitment to quality and history.
“This historic building, a treasured landmark of Clare, houses our beloved cellar door and has witnessed the creation of wines that have become synonymous with excellence.”
1878 Transcendence 2021 Shiraz is $130 and 1878 Transcendence 2024 Riesling is $70.
