80 Proof Liquor has bought the Australian wine label Boujee for undisclosed price.
Boujee was created by Shane and Natalie Barrington, who both managed and owned independent liquor stores across Melbourne for more than two decades.
With fun brand strategies, vibrant designs and a transparent agenda, Boujee was an instant hit among Melburnians.
Boujee was heralded by Tipple, Melbourne’s leading online alcohol delivery platform. In its first year alone, Boujee was the best-selling selection across all Tipple partnered stores, snowballing with serious traction throughout the pandemic.
80 Proof Liquor are new kids on the liquor block and creators of viral sensation Wet Pussy Shot.
The new owners intend to stay true to the “humble vision, direction and values” of Boujee.
80 Proof Liquor co-founders Danny Grant, George Grigoriadis and Jess Conti said, “The brand’s vision aligns with our company values.
“80 Proof is an innovative liquor company and we want innovative brands with similar values under our umbrella.
“When we met Shane and Nat and they passionately spoke about their vision, we knew Boujee was the perfect brand to expand our portfolio.”
They have big plans to bolster Boujee and have added Shane Barrington to the 80 Proof team.
Natalie Barrington said, “We have real faith in the group at 80 Proof to take our product to the next level.
“We are excited to have them as the driving force for the next part of an already amazing journey.”
The 80 Proof Facebook page describes itself as a liquor wholesaler specialising in spirits, RTD’s and liqueurs service the Mornington Peninsula’s bars, bottle shops and restaurants.
