Always Look On The Light Side Of Life

Milton Wordley, who produced the award-winning book A Year In The Life of Grange, is off the booze.

Doctor’s orders, because of the medication he is on after suffering a brain injury in a fall down the stairs of his granny flat in Adelaide.

And no, he hadn’t had too many.

So Milton is on the light stuff – possibly for a year.

However, he is looking on the bright side of life, enjoying trying non-alcoholic drinks.

During his time in hospital and with health professionals, Milton was struck by the number of people who told him they would be interested in any non-alcoholic wine he could recommend.

“One of the doctors at hospital asked about Pinot Noir,” he says.

“I gave him a few places in the Hills to look at.

“The next time I saw the group he said he’d enjoyed it.

“The head doctor said she didn’t drink alcohol but had tried wine and liked it – and that if I could recommend non alcohol wines she’d love try them.

“A lot of my friends are saying the same thing: ‘let me know if you find a decent one’.

“And they are not all doctors.

“So I think the demand is certainly out there for non-alcoholic wines.”

So here it is: Milton Wordley’s list of non-alcoholic drinks he’s tried and liked.

We’ll add to it over time, so it will be a handy list if you ever get sick of the wine Milton has spent a lifetime photographing – Grange.
