Leading Barossa Valley winemaker Rick Burge is putting his business, Burge Family Winemakers, on the market this week.
Rick has cancer and says it’s time to concentrate on his health.
“I need to focus on trying to get better,” he told WBM this morning. “I just can’t do both.”
Rick said he would find it hard to walk away from his beloved Lyndoch property.
“It’s going to be weird seeing the sign by the front gate,” he said.
“But it’s something I just have to do.”
The wine business, established in 1928, will be sold through Colliers International.
