Dargaud & Jaeglé expands premium oak alternatives range

Following the successful launch of its French Oak Staves last season, Dargaud & Jaeglé is expanding its premium oak alternatives portfolio for the 2027 vintage.

Sourced exclusively from the renowned Bourdier stave mill in Tronçais and featuring the signature Dargaud & Jaeglé toast profiles, the Staves made an immediate impact throughout the 2026 vintage.

Tim Bailey, the Australian distributor of Dargaud & Jaeglé, said the response from wineries had been extremely encouraging.

“Many winemakers highlighted the subtle, complex and beautifully integrated oak influence achieved across both red and white wines. It was exciting to see such elegant results across a diverse range of wine styles,” Bailey said.

Building on the success of the DJ Staves, the range is expanding to include DJ Sticks for barrel maturation and DJ Blocks for tank maturation.
Sharing the same premium French oak and signature toast philosophy, the expanded range provides winemakers with greater precision and control over oak integration while preserving freshness, varietal expression and the unique identity of each wine.

“The addition of DJ Sticks and DJ Blocks gives Australian winemakers even greater flexibility when selecting oak for different maturation programs. Together with our established barrel portfolio, we can now offer a comprehensive range of premium French oak solutions to suit virtually every winemaking style and objective.”
