Glory to Grenache in the Barossa Valley: The Old Legend gets up

By Friday 13 September 2019September 15th, 2019No Comments

Grenache – not Shiraz – is the toast of the Barossa Valley after Hentley Farm 2018 The Old Legend Grenache won the trophy for the most outstanding Barossa red wine at the Barossa Wine Show last year.

Hentley Farm chief winemaker Andrew Quin said this about the Grenache, “An integral blending component for Barossa’s wines, it is rewarding to see the new direction of Grenache as a stand -alone variety recognised by the judges tonight. Grenache is important for the future of our region’s diversity and sustainability.

“To be part of its evolution is very exciting.”
