High five for Oakridge at Yarra Valley Wine Show

Oakridge Wines won five trophies at the 2025 Yarra Valley Wine Show including The James Halliday Wine of Show for Oakridge 2023 864 Funder and Diamond Drive Block Chardonnay.

The same wine also won Best Chardonnay and Best White Wine in Show.

Oakridge completed a great show by winning Best Cabernet Sauvignon for the 2023 Vineyard Series Hyde Park Cabernet Sauvignon, and Most Successful Exhibitor.

Chair of judges Sam Connew praised the calibre of wines entered. “The Yarra Valley continues to set the benchmark for Australian cool climate wine,” she said.

“To see such consistency and depth across so many categories is a real testament to the commitment of the region’s winemakers and growers.

“The Cabernet and blend classes were particular highlights, while the Provenance entries reminded us of the Valley’s extraordinary legacy.”

With judging taking place at Seville Estate, the show attracted 297 entries with more than 70 percent receiving medals and 22 wines awarded gold across Sparkling, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet and blends.

More than 120 winemakers, growers and guests attended the presentation dinner at TarraWarra Estate.

Leanne De Bortoli and Stephen Webber were inducted into the Yarra Valley Wine Growers Hall of Fame, recognising their lasting contribution to the region.
