Iconic Barossa Winery Greenock Creek on The Market

By Sunday 25 February 2018No Comments

Greenock Creek Vineyards & Cellars, one of the Barossa’s most famous wine businesses, is on the market.

Homburg Real Estate advertised the property, owned by Michael and Annabelle Waugh, in the ‘House of the Week’ section of local newspaper the Herald last week.

“We’ve been inundated with enquiries from right throughout Australia,” David Braunack of Homburg Real Estate said.

He said Michael and Annabelle were ready to retire.

The sale comes just a few weeks after another well-known Barossa winery, Burge Family Winemakers, was listed for sale.

Homburg Real Estate is calling for expressions of interest in the Greenock property. They close on 21 March.

“The sale is a rare opportunity to acquire an established premium boutique wine business,” the Herald article says.

“The modern winery is fully operational and is set up to process up to 150 tonnes.

“There are also barrel storage and implement sheds.”

The original stone home and outbuildings date from 1850 to 1900.

The original cellar door was opened in 1988 with two wines, a shiraz and a chardonnay.

WBM Editor Anthony Madigan estimates the property to be worth at least $10 million.

Enquiries about the sale should be directed to David Braunack on 0418 841 349.
