Barossa winemaker Jo Irvine – who as a consultant has been behind the success of many celebrated wines over the years – has launched her new wine brand called Lévrier at the Adelaide Zoo.
Lévrier is French for greyhound and Jo has looked after rescued greyhounds for 20 years.
The wines are named after famous greyhounds: Sorter Pinot Gris, Argos Shiraz, Anubis Cabernet Sauvignon and Peritas Zinfandel.
Jo currently has two greyhounds: Maggie (12) and Georgia (4) who hang out at the winery.
Every bottle of NV Sparkling Meslier Brut Rose comes with a little dog on a chain around the neck.
The wines range in price from $25 to $50 a bottle.
