Shannon Sutherland Joins Rymill as Sandrine Gimon Moves on

By Sunday 21 January 2018No Comments

Shannon Sutherland is the new general manager and winemaker at Rymill Coonawarra.

Winemaker Sandrine Gimon is moving on after 12 years to a new role in Victoria.

“I am incredibly excited to have joined Rymill Coonawarra in this role,” Shannon said.

“Together with the great team already here, we will be looking to take the Estate in some new and diverse directions from the 2018 vintage onward.”

Shannon gained his management experience through many winery roles, including cellaring, packaging and logistics. His winemaking is also finely tuned, having worked in the Napa Valley, Beaujolais, Canada, the Hunter Valley, Great Western and Marlborough regions.

Over the past six years he has been gaining a deep understanding of the strengths and challenges of Coonawarra, most recently as winery manager and senior winemaker at Jack Estate in Coonawarra.

This is only the third change of senior winemaker in the company’s 43 year history.
