One of just two finalists in the distribution and logistics category at the Wine Industry Impact Awards, WineWorks is one Australia’s most progressive wine industry suppliers.
Held in late October, the Wine Industry Impact Awards celebrate the important impact value chain partnerships have on our ever-competitive wine industry – and WineWorks is in the running for more recognition for its efforts.

“There’s certainly an element of pride in being recognised for our services, but awards like this are also a recognition of my staff and the work they put in day-in and day-out, helping to service our customers,” says WineWorks general manager Kent Brown. “I think these awards help not only the winners but all suppliers to the wine industry in highlighting the work we all do to assist the industry to keep doing great things.”

WineWorks specialises in facilitating smooth transport, storage, reworking and container packing for wine businesses. They’ve become one of the top distribution specialists in South Australia, focusing solely on the wine industry. “Our common goal is to get our clients’ product on the shelf or table when it needs to be there and in the same state that the winemaker intended. Serving the wine industry is all we do – for us it is all that matters.”

The Stats:

  • They have over 300 clients Australia-wide
  • They manage approximately 1000 export movements each week
  • They rework over 1,000,000 bottles each year
  • They average a 99.2% success rate on timely deliveries (a proud figure they’ve held since 2010)
  • They offer 8000sqm of premium temperature-controlled warehousing, plus 1500sqm ambient warehousing.

What they do:

Transport – Competitive freight options and safe, on-time delivery are just some of the reasons that lead WineWorks to stand out from the crowd when it comes to wine transport.

Temperature-controlled warehousing – With ideal conditions maintained between 15 and 17 degrees, the WineWorks warehouse is designed to keep wine in top condition, precisely as the winemaker intended. With short-term storage offerings for high-turnover product or long-term storage if you’re in need of extra space, you can rest assured your product will be looked after.

Rework – Aside from the regular warehousing and distribution services, WineWorks also offers a variety of labelling, repackaging, wax cap and de-labelling services. It’s a one-stop-shop in this often complicated supply chain, so you’ve got less time talking to lots of different people and more time doing what you love – making wine.

Export – One of the most integral parts of every wine business, export is taken very seriously by WineWorks. They specialise in hand stacking and pallet loading, slip sheeting, insulated containers or reefers and cargo care products.

Online Transport & Stock Management – WineWorks’ online transport and stock management system is an easy, fuss-free way for clients to place orders and track their deliveries in real-time. Stock control has never been so transparent, accessible and traceable, so you’re in the know every step of the way.

Logistic Consultancy Services – Whether you’re a large-scale national wine client or a small boutique winery looking for distribution and storage solutions, WineWorks can help you sort the nuts and bolts of the back-end of your business.

Kent says it’s all about establishing a point of difference in the wine industry, and sticking to it. For WineWorks, it’s all about the client and the wine first, leading them to seek out the best, most cost effective, time effective and reliable ways to deliver – every time.

“I think our commitment to the wine industry as a specialised supplier and the service levels we deliver to our clients every day separate us from our competitors,” says Kent.

“Our attention to detail and personal service enables us to be big enough to do the job but small enough to care. We understand our clients’ needs and are able to deliver the premium service we have become known for, consistently and effectively.”
