International wine executive joins Chalk Hill as CEO

International wine executive Trent Fraser has been appointed CEO of Chalk Hill Wines in McLaren Vale.

He brings more than two decades of experience at some of the world’s most prestigious wine and luxury brands to one of McLaren Vale’s most celebrated wineries.

“I am so excited to have the opportunity to help shape the next chapter at Chalk Hill Wines, to build on its exceptional vineyards, award-winning wines and spectacular destination,” Mr Fraser said.

“My goal is ambitious and simple – to protect and enhance what makes Chalk Hill Wines so special, so that more people have the opportunity to experience our beautiful wines and share them with the people they care about.”

Managing director Tom Harvey said, “We think the future of wine is about people, place and passion, and we are delighted to welcome Trent as CEO to help steward Chalk Hill Wines into the future.

“Trent brings a rare combination of international wine and luxury brand experience, commercial leadership and a genuine passion for South Australian wine.

“Our family has been involved in the wine sector for six generations.

“Despite the current headwinds, we are excited about the future and creating greater enthusiasm, relevance and connection with our wines.”

Mr Fraser said, “Great wine is not simply about what is in the bottle.

Founded in 1964, Chalk Hill Wines is proudly owned and operated by the Harvey family.

The winery has a reputation for award-winning wines and as a destination experience that attracts visitors from across Australia and around the world to McLaren Vale.

Chalk Hill Wines’ grapegrowing and winemaking heritage dates back to John Harvey’s arrival in Adelaide in 1839 where he was one of the first to plant grape vines north of Adelaide. Today, six generations later, the Harvey family are continuing that legacy through both Chalk Hill Wines and the Alpha Crucis Wine Company.
