Barossa Australia has launched the second edition of the Barossa Super 100 Classification, shining a global spotlight on the region’s finest ultra-premium wines.
It was launched on March 23 in Chengdu, China, followed by an Asian roadshow and domestic activations.
The classification, originally launched in 2019, celebrates the craftsmanship, provenance and collectability that define Barossa’s place among the world’s most revered wine regions.
Selection is based on third-party endorsements and a minimum retail price of $125.
Barossa Australia CEO Scott Hazeldine says the classification is not about exclusivity but about championing Barossa as a world-class wine region, reinforcing its reputation for producing outstanding wines across all price points and styles.
“Barossa is home to an abundance of great wine, made by passionate producers who are deeply connected to the land,” Scott says.
“The Barossa Super 100 Classification is about celebrating Barossa’s place on the global stage and showcasing wines that have been recognised for their craftsmanship and collectability.
“It is one of many ways we tell the Barossa story, ensuring that all Barossa wines – at every level – benefit from the attention this initiative brings.”
The classification launch featured fully subscribed masterclass and tasting events for trade and media.
The 2025 Barossa Super 100 Classification showcases 127 wines from 57 brands.
This edition features artwork by Rod Schubert, a Barossa native known for his evocative paintings and sculptures.
His work, inspired by the region’s soils and landscapes, reflects Barossa’s deep connection to place, adding a rich visual narrative to the Classification.
Following its launch in Chengdu, the Asian roadshow will continue through Tokyo, Seoul, Macau and Hong Kong.
A domestic campaign will follow, ensuring ongoing visibility for Barossa’s wines.
