Small family producer Buckshot Vineyard won Wine of Show in Heathcote with the 2024 Heathcote Shiraz.
Established in 1999, Buckshot also won Best Shiraz, Best Single Vineyard Wine and Best Young Shiraz with the same wine.
This follows impressive showings and consistent gold medals at previous Heathcote wine shows.
More than 230 entries were submitted and assessed by a panel of judges led by chair Jen Pfeiffer for the first time.
“As to be expected, the Shiraz wines were very strong with the strength of the 2024, 2025 and 2022 vintages particularly on display,” Jen said.
“But it was the White Wine and Red Wine (Rhone) and Red Wine (Iberian/Italian) classes that genuinely excited the judges.”
Hirsch Hill won Best Other Wine and Best White Wine with La Chica 2026 con Tinta Grenache Blanc.
Sanguine Estate once again won Heathcote Wine of Provenance (the fourth time in five years) with Inception Shiraz 2024, 2019, 2014.
Chair of the Heathcote Wine Show, Richard Taylor said, “While entries were slightly down from 2025, it’s still heartening to see recognition of the quality and diversity of wines from the region.”
