Hunter Valley wine personality Patrick Haddock has joined Pepper Tree Wines as its new business development manager.

Pepper Tree is headed up by head winemaker Gwyn Olsen. She and Patrick took part in the Len Evans Tutorial in 2015.

Pepper Tree owner John Davis said he was thrilled to have Patrick on board. “Patrick is a highly-respected sommelier and his experience in the wine industry will really enhance our already-strong team,” John said.

“To have someone of his calibre and dynamism step up as our business development manager is exciting for us – it’s a really important role for Pepper Tree and we wanted to appoint the best person for the job. And that’s Patrick.

“We’re really looking forward to our next chapter.”

Patrick said he was buoyed by the possibilities of the role. “After so many years in the industry, I’m incredibly keen to join such a renowned wine company,” he said.

“Pepper Tree has a strong tradition of winemaking and it’s exciting to think about building on the success of the business and brand and seeing just how far we can take it.

“It was certainly an opportunity I could not resist.”

Patrick takes up the role in mid- February and will be based at the winery in Pokolbin.
