Mandoon Estate 2023 Wilyabrup Cabernet Sauvignon was awarded Wine of Show at the Endeavour Group Margaret River Wine Show.
The wine also won Red Wine of Show, Best Single Vineyard Red and Best Cabernet Sauvignon.
Mandoon Estate also won Most Successful Exhibitor.
General manager Andrew Pruyn said he couldn’t be prouder.
“Our winemaking team is led by Ryan Sudano and it bamboozles me what he and the team do,” he said.
“We encourage and drive passion in our people, and that’s led from our owner Allan Erceg.
“There’s a reason why we’ve invested so heavily in Margaret River – we can’t get fruit of the quality anywhere else, the region is just so strong with what it’s able to produce.
“It is a big part of our business, and we’re incredibly grateful.”
David Bicknell chaired the judging panel for the third consecutive year.
“Margaret River is an unusual wine show because the number of high-quality exhibits exceeds almost every other show in the country, including the National Wine Show,” he said.
“It’s your work, it’s not mine – I’m just endorsing it.
“The percentage of golds in the show has hit 10 percent – that’s double the national average from all major shows.
“It’s quite extraordinary.”
Two new trophies were introduced this year: Best Chenin Blanc and Best Malbec.
