Throw your hat in the ring – the ring of rosé! The 2026 Rosé Rodeo is moving to the Barossa Valley after the success of the inaugural event in the Riverland last year.
Hosted by Ricca Terra and Hoffmann Family Vineyards to celebrate the quality, diversity and innovation of Australian rosé – The Rosé Rodeo will be held at Hoffmann Family Vineyards at Ebenezer (452 Sturt Road) on Friday 13 November from 1pm to 5.30pm.
More than informative, it will also be a chance for the industry to catch its breath and reconnect with friends and colleagues and have some fun.
“The idea for the event came from Ricca Terra’s love of rosé and the importance of the wine category to Australia,” Ashley Ratcliff said.
Being rosé weather – even if it’s not – there will be rosé, rosé and more rosé as the wine industry and the trade – and anyone else interested in the state of rosé in this country – come together to talk about where rosé is going in this country; the varieties best suited to rosé; and where the future opportunities may present themselves.
The National Rosé Forum – The Conversations Shaping Australia’s Rosé future – will be hosted by the consummate conversationalist, Jane Ferrari.
Presenters include writers Max Allen and Erin Larkin, Ashley Ratcliff from Ricca Terra, Tim Pelquest-Hunt from Vinarchy, viticulturist Nick Dry, James Adams from Turkey Flat, sommelier Dan McEvoy and Nick Dodds from Vintage Wine Co. They will all present their favourite rosés to taste.
They will be accompanied by roaming presenters Nick Ryan and Angelica Crabb.
The Industry Connection evening includes the National Rosé Rodeo Wine Competition with the independent judging panel including Max Allen and Erin Larkin.
The Top 10 Rosés will be named – and then Third Place, Runner-Up and Champion Rosé.
Fifty percent of all competition entry fees will be returned to producers as prizemoney, distributed between the top three wines.
The Champion will ride off into the sunset with a magnificent custom-made belt buckle, a lasting memento of the inaugural Barossa Valley Rosé Rodeo.
Tickets to The Rosé Rodeo are $150 per person and include the full day’s activities, plus the evening competition and judging, with wine and pizza included.
Evening-only tickets are $75 per person and include access to the evening competition and judging, with wine and pizza included.
A consumer event will be held at the same location – Hoffmann Family Vineyards – on Saturday 14 November, from 11am to 5pm.
Tickets are $40 per person which include a free glass of wine on arrival, an engraved glass to take home and entertainment.
The day will feature wines from Ricca Terra and Hoffmann Family Vineyards. There will be prizes for best dressed (think pink) and picnic rugs are welcome.
