Description
Edmond Mazure is possibly the most influential and remarkable, yet least known, of all Australia’s late nineteenth and early twentieth century winegrowers. His achievements included creating the original St Henri Claret; inventing the first Australian sparkling burgundy style and pioneering sparkling wine in South Australia on a commercial basis; improving the quality of Australian sherry; judging at the major Australian wine shows of the day; and doing much to promote Australian wine in Britain.
