The Lucky 12 Set for ‘The Most Exclusive Wine School in the World’

The 12 successful applicants for the 18th Len Evans Tutorial have been announced. They are:

Tim Lovett – Senior winemaker, Leeuwin Estate
Sarah Andrew – National on-premise business manager, House of Fine Wine
Steven Paul – General manager, Oakdene Wines
Cath Oates – Owner/winemaker, Oates Ends
Michael Downer – Winemaker, Murdoch Hill

“There is an extraordinary calibre of scholars including wine and viticulture professionals at the top of their game,” tutor Iain Riggs says.

The Tutorial program is designed to define the demands of wine show judging and to define quality by exposing the scholars to the great wine styles of the world. A team of five tutors will put the scholars through their paces in what James Halliday described as “the most exclusive wine school in the world.”

Tutors include James Halliday, Ian McKenzie, Iain Riggs, Gary Steel, Michael Hill Smith, Vanya Cullen, Tom Carson, Sarah Crowe, David Bicknell, Jim Chatto, Tyson Stelzer, Samantha Connew and Patrick Walsh.
