Hay Shed Hill Wines in Margaret River is for sale.
The sale includes the property, the brand and the business.
Hay Shed Hill – a James Halliday five-star winery – is being offered for sale for only the second time in the past 20 years.
Located in the ‘golden triangle’ area of Wilyabrup, the wine business is for sale by expressions of interest through Langley and Co director, Mike Calneggia.
Hay Shed Hill was purchased by Mike Kerrigan and his partners in 2006 and has developed an enhanced reputation for the production of high quality wines under the traditional Hay Shed Hill label, as well as a following for the everyday wines produced under the Pitchfork label.
The entire range is nationally distributed by Négociants and export markets are developing in a number of countries.
“The Hay Shed Hill property is one of the prettiest in the Margaret River region and is home to the region’s number one rated restaurant on TripAdvisor,” Mike Calneggia says.
Mike Kerrigan, part-owner and winemaker at Hay Shed Hill says, “After 15 years at the helm of Hay Shed Hill and after achieving a number of milestones, it is now time for a new owner to provide the drive and energy required to take the brand to the next level.
“I am immensely proud of what the team and I have managed to achieve and I look forward to watching the further development of the brand in the future.
“For me, it will be well-earned rest for a while and then I might get involved in some smaller projects where the demands on my time aren’t so great.
“I might even get some local travel bucket-list items ticked off.”
Mike will be available for a period after the sale has been completed to assist a new owner and/or winemaker with the handover.
